September 29th

Hello Confirmation Families!

Last Wednesday we did a large overview of our Bibles--how to find what, how to utilize the study tools, and how it's structured. We didn't get to our intended lesson on The Fall (Genesis 3), but did send home our discussion sheet as "homework". That being said, he hope your kids took the initiative to look it over! If they lost the sheet, no worries: it's posted on our at home confirmation page found here or on our app.

This week we'll meet from 6:00-7:00 on the North Lawn (Fellowship Hall if inclement weather); remember to bring Bibles, wear masks, and dress to be outside! We'll be talking about Noah (Genesis 6-9) if your kids want to read part of the story before coming on Wednesday (which we do encourage!).

For the time being we will not meet on Sunday mornings following church, but confirmation kids are more than welcome to help out with Sunday School. I'll keep you posted on in person Sunday meetings!

6th grade families: remember to find a mentor! A mentor is a church-going adult (non-immediate family) who is able to dedicate Wednesday evenings about once/month during the school year throughout confirmation. We encourage kids to help decide who their mentor will be, and to also do the asking! We hope mentoring will be a positive relationship in your kids' lives. When you've found a mentor, please email us with their name and email address.

  • Confirmation Mentor Nights for this year:
    • 10/14, 11/11, 12/9, 1/13, 2/10, 4/14

Stay well,
Liz

Hello Confirmation Families!

On Sunday the 6th graders received new Bibles! If you were unable to be here on Sunday, no worries--we have your Bibles here! We also decorated totes for our Bibles--all confirmation kids can have a tote to decorate and use.

Last week in confirmation we talked all about Family; we got to know each other and our families a bit. We sprinkled in some bonding, too, while playing kubb and giant jenga! Then we moved onto talking about the First Family in the Bible--Adam, Eve, Cain & Abel. We learned that families are not always perfect, come in many forms, and can be complicated, but ultimately we belong to one another and are meant to be together and bonded in God's love.

This week we'll meet from 6:00-7:00 on the North Lawn (Fellowship Hall if inclement weather); remember to bring Bibles, wear masks, and dress to be outside! We'll be talking about The Fall--and not autumn, but the first sin from Genesis 3. We'll also have a Bible 101--learning about the structure of the Bible, how to find different books, and how to utilize the study portion of the study Bible.

For the time being we will not meet on Sunday mornings following church, but confirmation kids are more than welcome to help out with Sunday School. I'll keep you posted on in person Sunday meetings!
